Dry Needling & Myofascial Cupping
Myofascial Cupping (available Mid August)
Myofascial Cupping is a form of soft tissue therapy.
It involves using a slightly suctioned cup and placing it over a muscle trigger point (muscle knot) and moving it along the muscle fibres to reduce tension in the muscles.
The negative pressure of the cups separates and lengthens the soft tissue underneath it.
Myofascial Cupping treatment are customised to the patient’s individual needs. Myofascial Cupping Treatment will usually begin with an assessment of the area to find and identify tight muscle groups and muscle trigger points.
What is Dry Needling?
Dry needling is similar to acupuncture in that it uses very fine needles inserted into the muscles.
It is used to help loosen tight muscles, get rid of inflammation and speed healing.
Unlike acupuncture, where needles are left in for a long time, dry needling has an almost instant effect. In many cases, they can be inserted and removed in less than a minute with a great effect.
Very good for things like:
- Tennis elbow
- Tight shoulders and neck
- Sore knees and ankles
Dry Needling is available with Dr. Baram and Dr. Lisa
